The 12" Single Prong Tool Rack is the default for anyone who needs cords, hoses, and gear off the floor and onto the wall:
Standard residential garages — the size most buyers need for most walls
Home workshops — woodworking, hobbyist, weekend project spaces
Tool sheds — bigger than the 6" but still fits in most shed walls
Basement storage — the spot where the cords and hoses pile up in winter
Landscapers — hang extension cords and hoses in the truck or trailer
Hobbyists — gardeners, woodworkers, tinkerers, weekend mechanics
Rental property owners — outfitting garages and sheds for tenants
Farms and hobby farms — barn walls, tack rooms, equipment sheds
Small workshops and maker spaces — the right size for the shared wall

This is the one most people end up with. The 12" Heavy Duty Wall Mount Single Prong Tool Rack is the go-to choice for standard garages, home workshops, and the basement or shed of anyone who needs to get cords, hoses, and gear off the floor. At 12 inches long, it gives you a sturdy single hook to hang extension cords, garden hoses, coiled rope, wire, D-grip tools, and anything else with a loop or handle.
Same 16-gauge American steel as the rest of the lineup. In-house tested to over 210 pounds — a number most tool rack brands don't publish because their stamped-metal products wouldn't survive the test. The single prong design means you're hanging items naturally instead of trying to balance them on a peg or cramming them into a bin.
The 12" is the size that makes the most sense for the most people. If you've never owned a wall mount tool rack before, this is the one to start with. Pair it with our Double Prong Tool Racks for long-handled tools and you've got a fully organized wall.
Also called a garage hook, a wall-mount cord hanger, a hose hook, or just a utility hook — the 12" Heavy Duty Single Prong Tool Rack does all of it in one piece of American-made steel.
It's cut from 16-gauge steel — real steel, not the flimsy stamped metal that bends the second you hang a real shovel from it. The double-prong design clamps a tool by the handle instead of dangling it from a hook, which means it holds a wet, heavy shovel at the end of a long day the same way it holds a dry broom. We tested it in-house to over 210 pounds before we called it done. Most tool racks on the market don't publish a weight spec at all, which tells you everything you need to know about what's inside them.
The 6" size holds two long-handled tools — most buyers go with a shovel and a rake, or a push broom and a snow shovel, or a pitchfork and a spade. Mount it to studs with the included hardware, and it stays where you put it through every season.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Single Prong holds tools that hang from a single hook — extension cords, garden hoses, coiled rope, wire, and D-grip tools like string trimmers or hedge trimmers. The Double Prong cradles long-handled tools BETWEEN two prongs — shovels, rakes, brooms, hoes. Choose Single Prong for anything with a hanging hole or loop; choose Double Prong Tool Rack for tools with tapered handles. Both use the same 16-gauge American steel construction and share the same 210+ lb in-house tested capacity.
-
In-house tested to over 210 lbs — same as our Double Prong line. Built from 16-gauge American steel with MIG-welded joints, the rack won't bend or flex under load. That's commercial-grade capacity in a residential-friendly size.
-
Anything that hangs naturally from a single hook — extension cords, garden hoses, coiled rope, wire, jumper cables, air hoses, D-grip trimmers, hedge trimmers, and any tool with a factory hanging hole. Basically anything you'd normally reach for a hook to hold — only built commercial-grade to actually last.

-
Yes — the 12" Single Prong ships with everything you need to mount to a standard wood-stud wall. For concrete, block, or metal walls, you'll need appropriate anchors for that surface. Mounting into studs is recommended for maximum hold.
