WHY THE 48" SQUARE PICNIC TABLE
Most commercial picnic tables are rectangular — long benches, two sides, everyone facing the same direction or sitting across from one person. The 48" Square Picnic Table changes the geometry. Four bench seats around a square top put eight adults face-to-face, which makes it a better table for the kind of settings where people are actually there to talk: community cookouts, campus quads, employee break areas, campground common areas, and family reunions at the park pavilion.
The frame is welded 1-1/2" square steel tubing with a black powder-coated finish that resists rust and UV fade. The top and bench seats are 100% recycled plastic lumber in Cedar or Dark Grey — maintenance-free, sag-resistant, and built to stay outside year-round without rotting, cracking, or needing a coat of stain. The same materials we build every table in our line from, just in a different layout.
The square footprint also makes better use of space than a rectangular table in certain layouts. Under a square shelter roof, in the center of a courtyard, or arranged in a grid across a patio — the 48" square fits where a 6-foot or 8-foot rectangular table would overshoot the space or leave dead area on the sides. At 48 inches per side, it's compact enough to fit through standard doorways and gates for repositioning.
Portable by default — pick it up and move it where you need it. Pre-drilled frame with zinc hardware makes assembly straightforward. Factory-direct from our shop in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Standard lead time is 14 days. Volume pricing available for orders of 4 or more units.
