Why the Log Claw Mini
This is the size for portable fire pits. At 24 inches, the Mini Log Claw is purpose-built for the Solo Stove, Breeo, Tiki, and the kind of compact firebox where the 35" feels like overkill. Same 1-inch square American steel as the bigger Log Claws, scaled down for the smaller fires you actually tend with one hand. The 35", 40", and 45" handle backyard fires, bonfires, and commercial setups — but if your fire lives in a portable fire pit or a small fireplace tucked into a tight wall, the Mini is the one that earns its place on the bench next to your Solo Stove. Four pounds of American steel in a one-handed package — handle it like the bigger Log Claws, just sized for smaller fires.
Four pounds of American steel doesn't sound like much until you compare it to the 2 to 3-pound stamped-metal tongs that dominate the rest of the market. Same 1-inch square OD 16-gauge steel tubing as the bigger Log Claws, same powder-coated finish, same laser-cut teeth — just sized down for the smaller fires you actually tend with one hand. The dual-claw design opens just under 12 inches wide for a controlled grip on the kindling and split wood typical of portable and indoor fire setups. The ribbed finger groove handles give you the same grip that doesn't slip when your hands are cold or your gloves are damp.
Also called fire pit tongs, fireplace tongs, a firewood grabber, log grabber, or Solo Stove log tool — the Mini Log Claw replaces all of them with one purpose-built tool sized for the way most people actually use a portable fire pit.

Wood stoves — measure your firebox opening; the 7.75" claw width fits most stoves
Cabins, lake houses, and vacation properties — the right size for the indoor fireplace and the outdoor fire ring
Hearth and home use — clean, controlled wood handling on the living room floor
Casual campers — fits in a truck bed or camp box without taking over

Frequently Asked Questions
-
The Mini Log Claw is geared primarily for portable fire pits — Solo Stove, Breeo, Tiki, and similar compact setups — plus indoor fireplaces and some wood stoves (see FAQ #4 for wood stove fit). At 24" long and 4 pounds, it's the most maneuverable size in the Log Claw lineup. The 35" also works for portable fire pits, but the Mini is purpose-built for the smaller, hand-held workflow around a Solo Stove or compact fireplace. For standard backyard fire pits in the 24–36" range, the 35" is the better choice.
-
The 35" is the versatile workhorse — handles backyard fire pits, standard fireplaces, and portable setups equally well. 5 pounds, 35 inches long, grabs logs up to 12 inches across. The Mini is purpose-built for portable fire pit users — 4 pounds, 24 inches long, sized for one-handed use around a Solo Stove or compact firebox. Same heavy-duty welded steel and laser-cut teeth as the bigger sizes, just scaled for portable-first applications.
-
Yes — the Mini is sized specifically for portable fire pits. The 24" length lets you maneuver inside the Solo Stove Yukon, Bonfire, Ranger, or any comparable portable fire pit without scraping the walls. The 4-pound weight keeps it easy to handle one-handed while you're tending the fire. Built from the same 1-inch square American steel as the bigger Log Claws — just scaled for portable setups.
-
For most standard residential fireplaces, yes — the 24" length fits inside typical fireplace openings and the compact head profile clears tight firebox dimensions. For wood stoves, the Mini reaches 16.5 inches wide grip-to-grip when fully open — wider than many wood stove door openings. You can still use the Mini inside a smaller stove by working the claws partially open or angling them through the door, but for full freedom of movement you'll want a stove door at least 17 inches wide. The Mini ships in Satin Black powder coat — same finish as the standard color on the larger Log Claws. We don't currently offer the Mini in Red or Tropical Lime Green because it's a focused single-SKU production run for the most popular color in indoor and portable use cases. If you need a color match for the rest of the lineup, the 35", 40", and 45" come in all three colors.
-
Yes — completely assembled, no tools required. The Mini ships ready to grab logs straight out of the packaging. At 4 pounds, it's the lightest in the lineup — easy to hand off to anyone in the household who wants to help tend the fire. Makes a strong gift for the wood stove owner, fireplace user, or Solo Stove enthusiast.
